Seeking same. Tested mine suspect/think it's demised. Sent
Csaba @ Vick's the unit for a match,no go. Obert has what
appears to be the right unit: $300, YIKES! Anyone got one?
Speaking of Vick's Ryan has departed so it's just Csaba &
Doug now. They're short staffed for now so be patient.

You want to use a Beta motor- available, better gear and worm profile, you have to rewire the conector to match Scorpion.

See here at the good old Monte Hospital (http://www.montecarlo.org.uk/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=19&products_id=384). Theirs is actually a brand new Beta unit rewired for the Scorpion/Montecarlo. And half the price of what you say Obert is asking!

According to knowledgable Lancisti, the Scorpion/Montecarlo unit is identical to the FIAT 124 Coupe unit but NOT the 124 Spider unit.

Mmmmm ...I've reached "knowledgable Lancisti" status!?!? Thanks.

The problem of course is they are just as rare amongst Fiat 124 Coupe owners as they are for Scorp drivers. I was lucky (I guess "lucky", depends on your perspective) that I had a Coupe and Scorp sharing the driveway at the time I could compare. As I was selling the Coupe and just bought the Scorp, I swapped the wiper motor I'd rebuilt for the Coupe over to the Scorp. Plugged and played - identical units, same part numbers, same wiring and mod plug, same functions.

I knew you'd like that. Besides, it's true and I couldn't remember that other tag you got stuck with after looking at that Atlanta Scorpion. LOL!

Thanks all. I suspected there was a workaround/sub-
stitute of some nature.

Thanks all. I suspected there was a workaround/sub-
stitute of some nature. The 124 Coupe wiper motor is completely workable, but not available from our vendors. That means you have to pry them from the cold dead fingers of a 124 Coupe freak ...I mean, owner. There are readily available units which can be mechanically and electrically adapted for greater longevity than another 30 year old wiper motor.

Easy for me to write, mine works ...for now ;-)

I'll call Csaba again @ Vicks, he might have a Beta/Beta unit I
can re-wire. Failing that Bruce. THM is switching their service
"platform" & is down so that's out. Only doing Obert as a last
resort. BTDT before: Scorp struts from Chris ran me $1.2+K !
Outrageous but when you do the exchange rate & shipping
still cheaper than THM. Whadda 'ya gonna do?

I have two used Beta Coupe/Zagato wiper assemblies I could strip a motor off of if that is the one your looking for to re-wire, I know at least one of the two are good if not both, I just haven't tested the one

Thanks Jim. Gonna strive to locate a re-built unit for
now. Let 'ya know.

Thanks to JohnO for the tip. I changed my tact & when [re]
calling our vendors I said motor for Scorpion OR 124 Coupe.
Lo & behold Di Fatta had a NOS motor: TGE574E. And $175
as opposed to Obert's $300. Works, parks, I'm elated. Might
be last NOS unit stateside for all I know. Thanks.

UHG....

This weekend I took the mighty scorpion on a 200 mile trip and the wiper motor stopped working... So whatever the outcome of this thread is, ill need to order a new motor or change my icon....

I'll save you the research [GREIF] for a motor. 1.) Re-build yours.
Good luck there. I couldn't figure out how to get the motor
housing off mine. 2.) Obert says his are new. For $300 they'd
better be! 3.) TMH motors are re-builds. Or maybe new Beta
motors converted to 6 prong. Drat, I forget. I'd bet the motor I got
from Di Fatta was the last "reasonably" priced [$175] NEW motor
stateside. Hope that helps. Please contact me for that rear valance
ecohen. Thanks.

Sorry to hear that, Ed- BTW, what is that 1048,1049- looks kinda interesting, is that something built on a Seven chassis?
