Hi all,
Is it possible to wrinkle coat the plastic Monte hospital airbox for DCNF carb setup?
Cheers, Pieter

One could wrinkle paint the housing after sanding/cleaning to
do a Maserati look-alike finish but God the dust it'd collect!

Hi Allen,
Found this piccie in your gallery:

(great minds ... :-)
Is it just lightly sanding (what sandpapernumber?), then applying layers of paint, and then using a paint dryer to get the wrinkle effect?

Your engine bay is nothing short of breathtaking for me.
Although in the middle of my re-do mine will never look
like yours. Here in the States Rustoleum offers wrinkle
paint now. Heat resistant, unlikely. Old school was to
apply specific wrinkle paint, hit it w/a heat gun. You may
elect to source Maserati wrinkle spray paints in a can.
Me-thinks that may well be for metal though. I just got
the same Monte Hospital GRP carb cover. I sanded the
Lancia logo & ribs w/120 grit paper, masked it & painted
same w/ceramic red exhaust paint. The rest will remain
factory glossy. Dust issue again. Again, beautiful bay!!!!
