Been chatting with an old Consortium member - trying to get him back in the fold! Anyway, he's moved to Thailand and getting the car out there isn't really an option so he's looking at getting rid. I don't have any pics at the moment, but if you have any questions or you're interested, drop Gareth Griffiths a line on gareth_quasar@hotmail.co.uk

Here's his own words!

'Apart from the mechanical stuff the car had a full bare metal respray (powder blue as original) bodywork was suprisingly good new outer sills as a precaution showed all well in side and new arches on rear wings all that was required. Never did anything to the (red) interior which has small tears on driver's seat (same as when I bought it in - I think - 1983/4 ). Headlamps have been rebuilt with usual Xenons (although I never actually used it at night since). I had use of one of my garages at my old house until early December and it was then transferred to Mick's workshop while someone was trying to find a lock up (as yet not happened) not sure when he had to move it outside but I guess over a month. Not worried about cold weather just paintwork damage from leaves bird shit and so on. Not planning on coming back to the UK apart from the odd few days.
Other problem with Thailand is 100% market value import duty on western cars, that's why the only ones you see here are top range Beemers, Lambos and Ferraris (i.e. for people who are not bothered about the cost). Have heard of people importing classics by having them totally stripped and shipped as *spares* but that seems a bit drastic. Price - I don't really know, open to sensible offers and I'm sure anyone interested would have a reasonable idea. Oil pressure - I'm a bit concerned as I did fit a new sensor, Mick has ambiguosly commented that *It's not a problem but it may be the oil pump* although it has been that way for a few years - occurs on idle when hot after along run, I'm not sure if it;s a general thing with Montes but the pressure always did seem to be rev dependant. I mailed Rodders last year actually when I was still uncertain about plans.'

Thanks for reading
