Just bought some brand new Italian metal today!!!
This happy event marks my return to yet another of my hobbies that fell by the wayside over 30 years ago when I decided to become married and raise a family. Wingshooting! Yaaayyy! :D
Pretty ain't it? I still think I should have bought that 1956 Browning A-5 Sweet 16 at the gun show but I felt better getting a brand new piece first since it's currently the only thing in the stable. Maybe the 16 for my next one but I'll still need at least one nice double, too.

I just now saw this post DJ, shows you how much I pay attention. Congratulations on your purchase a beautiful piece of Italian craftsmanship.
I am an "old" wing shooter myself and really love the sport! I used a Winchester model 1200 and an old model 97 that was my father's gun...this was back in the days when we were allowed to use lead...still have both Winchesters in great shape. Also used a Remington model 87, a bit heavy but has never let me down.
Lately I have been thinking of getting a Berreta "Eureka" as I have been advised that just about anything (meaning modern shot requirements) can be run through it's barrel without causing excessive wear or damage. Chambers both mags and standards I'm told. At any rate it's nice to see a fellow wing shooter on the board. Enjoy your purchase.

Bump.....
How are you getting along with the Franchi, DJ? That is yet another one of the rotating-bolt jobs , isn't it?
DavidB: Silence you infidel! 410's are a good quail/handgun round though! :D In these parts where rifles are banned we load up our waterfowlers with 3" magnum Benneke slugs that punch out 3000lbf for deer and bear season. And I will vouch for the Benellis- I have a Nova which is their bottom tier gun and if you can't keep up with a guy with an 870 or 500 the problem is the operator, not the firearm. Although I would say I've been pleased with Rugers too.
