I am starting a thread on the restoration and upgrading of my Series 1 Spyder. It has no 'nickname' at the moment. I will refer to it as the 'Project'. Purchased in 2005 it has sat in my garage awaiting attention. Due to me working in the Middle East and Asia that has been delayed till now. I have uploaded some pictures of 'Arrival' and commencement of strip-down of the headlight area. As you can see a 4 headlight system had been installed and I plan to continue with a 4 headlight system from, maybe, a Beta but looking at a BMW E30 series system as an alternative. During my time overseas planning had been going on, as had purchases via ebay. My wife receiving strange packages to be put in the garage!!
I will try to update progress and information on a weekly basis.
The vehicle is somewhat unique as it commenced life in Italy, was shipped to UK, converted from LHD to RHD by Barry Waterhouse and at some time had an engine upgrade by Guy Croft.
I plan to research details on the vehicle in the coming weeks.

I do have another Montecarlo, a S2 Spyder which is 99% operational and photographs of that will get added to the picture gallery soon.

Hi there and welcome to the list! Great to see another couple of cars being looked after - you've got some work there in the series one car. The series 2 car looks very clean.

Looking forward to see it come together and how you'll work in the twin headlamps. You're in the same area I think as Paul Millet and the monster monte. Have you been out to any of the Consortium events?

Looks like you're pretty much sorted, but if you have any questions or need of parts then post up!

Cheers

Darren

Hi Darren
We met at the SOTB at the 'Dog'. Panther strike a bell??
Hence lanciatomcat here and Tom_p on the Consortium site.
I am just new to this site.
I have had the pleasure of the monstermonte on my drive a few times already!! I am not sure my neighbours were as impressed though.
Cannot persuaded Paul to leave the keys, have offered to drive him home even!!!! It is jsut a little far for him to walk.
Take care
Tom

Hi Tom,

Yes I remember now and now that I look at your handle, it makes perfect sense!;o)

Yeah, I tried to get Paul's car too - unfortunately he's not having any of it - and I did say please!;o)

Are you going to the tech forum?
