I bought a pair of DCNFs on a Cremora manifold several years back and I'm just now trying to get them installed. I have the linkage between the carbs but I don't have the bracket that holds the throttle cable. Do any of you have a similar setup that can take some pictures so I know what I need? I have looked at lots of pics of DCNFs on scorps, but all of them show the carbs from the rear of the car so the bracket was hidden. I'm just trying to avoid re-inventing the wheel; I know this has been done many times before so if any of you sages have some advice, please pass it on.

Thanks,

Darren

Hi there,

Sounds like you have exactly the same problem as I had. I have a set of downdrafts on an alquatti manifold and a really bad heath robinson set up for the throttle cable. After much searching around and trying to find a nice set of linkages simimlar to the side draft setup, I found the light - or rather the right advice!;o) Just use the original throttle link from the standard carbs - it should have a ball socket on there too and with a bit of aplying around, you're sorted!

Unfortunately I don't have any shots right now - it's all in the cleaning bath bfore being rebuilt, but you should see how it all hangs together.

Hope this helps!

Darren

As Darren stated, the Alquati manifold uses the stock throttle assembly which should bolt to the back (front, actually) of the manifold. The only thing that it changed was the bellcrank which was replaced with a modified one that had a slightly longer arm to allow full throttle activation. You should be able to tinker with things a bit to make it work just fine.

Thanks, I remembered reading somewhere that the stock parts would work with some tweaking. My problem is that things have been apart for so long I'm not even sure how the stock one looks. I have parts from a beta coupe, zagato, and the scorpion laying around and I'm not even sure I have the complete setup for any of them. That's why I was hoping to see a clear picture.

OH LORD, I feel your pain: too many Lancias, too many parts
hither & yon, what goes where, been soooooo long since I did
that dis-assemble. Misery luvs company. Read my post about
having lost a Scorp wheel adaptor. I'll wish you luck if you
wish me same ;-0

Philip, I have twin DCNF on my Monte- I will try and post a photo or two of the set up for you in the next day or so.

Andrew.

Philip, I don't know if these pics will show enough- it's so hard to get near it as I'm sure you know. I hope they're useful.

Kind Regards, Andrew.

Thanks for posting those. I appreciate you going to all that trouble. All of the original linkage parts were finally found and now things make sense.
