Hi all,
I own a 2.4 ltres Lancia Kappa Coupé and would like to know, whether there might be some othe "kC" addicts in this forum. I know, it´s part of the unprestigeous FIAT-period, but i like the effort which was made to create something special out of the parts from th FIAT shelf.

Welcome to the Lancisti Forums!
I don't know of any other Kappa owners here currently but am always happy to have new members and learn more about the models that we never saw here in the USA.
I am happy to create a new model-specific forum for the Kappa model if there's sufficient interest.
If you know of any other Kappa owners looking for a support forum on the web, please point them in our direction.
Regards,
Kappa

Hi!
I'd like to see a model specific topic, however I'm not sure as to the ammount of k-enthousiasts currently on this forum. Is the majority here from the US?
It might be possible of course to start something up. I know of some active forums, but they all are nation based. It could be combined perhaps.
Let me know your thoughts on this!
Regards,
Bas

Many of the members here are from the USA. However, this site is intended to be international in nature and we have MANY Lancisti here from all over the globe.
New Kappa Forum created! Please bring along all your Kappa friends and participate.
Enjoy.

Hi DJ,
thank you for implementing this forum, even if the majority of the members is US based. As the make often seems to fade away by lack of interest and vision provoided by the Fiat management, I think the Kappa is a nice example of an effort in the late nineties to establish a new upper middle class sophisticated model, which contained a limo, a station wagon an a coupé (limited to some 3-4 thousand cars).
To me the model represents an interesting yet nice and reliable car, which lacks of the technical sophistication of the lancia cars under the famiglia lancia. In european market, the model seems to slowly fade away, having strong support for the coupé in Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Germany, at still reasonable prices. But the Limousines and station wagons due to their good reliability will soon be worn out.
Personally, i have a strong sympathy for this unreasonable and mismanaged and mismarketed make under the Fiat reign. They have no srategy, nor do they dare neither to invest in technical innovation or just stop the make.
HAve a nice weekend

Hi Pietro,
your Coupé is really a nice one, with a black grille, which I have never seen before. My Coupé is a silver 2.4, 175 bhp with some 26k miles. I liked your engine in the FIAT Coupé but thought it were a little agressive compared to the looks of the kC (with a chrome grill), however the smooth 2.4 enginge would benefit from a little extra punch.

Hello Axel,
The black grilled Kappa Coupe is not mine. I collected a lot of photos from the internet, and that was one of them. Mine is completely standard.
I have never driven the smooth 2.4, but would love to do that some time. I come from an Integrale, so i can't think of the 220 bhp being agressive :-)
Ciao, Pieter
p.s. my Kappa came from Hamburg!

Hi All,
I have a 1988 20vT also: Storm Black and crema interior. It's my regular car but most of my journeys recemtly have been by public transport which saves the milage increasing.
The engine runs very sweetly and gives excelent performance. Drove it from London to the South of France again in the summer with minimal fuss and maximum smiles. Crusing at 160km/hr was all too easy.
One problem I am experiencing is difficulty in changing to/from 5th and reverse when hot (running at speed for longisih periods) - I have been told that it could be that the cable linkages need to be changed or could it be worse?
Looking to replace the shocks now - standard not auto adjustables. Koni not longer manufacture the top adjustables for the Coupe but I have a specialist that has the Koni specifications and drawings and is costing a build from parts. KYB also produce repalcements. I don't want to go down the Monroe route which appear to be available on the web so do any of you out there have any stories good or bad regarding shock absorber changes? Let us know please.
Cheers
Gus

I used to own a couple of Kappa Coupes, both 2.0 16V, a black one with dark grey alcantara interior and then a Lancia blue one with dark red leather. They were very enjoyable cars, a reasonable amount of power and very good as long distance drivers.
