View Full Version : Yikes! It's a Beta Zagato jackpot in Seattle!

Kinda depressing when the only place I see Lancias is in the "for sale" section of Craigslist. I sure hope these darn things are at the bottom of their depreciation curve 'cos it's harder to justify spending a couple grand to resuscitate a car when apparently cherry examples of the type are going begging for $1,200 on Craigslist. Speaking of which, if anybody's looking for a parts car with the potential to be more, here's the link to it:

http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/car/485563928.html

It's carbed -- that's the only clue to its vintage I could detect. It's the same car that was posted a week and a half earlier for $1500. Just think, for the price of three of these you could snap up that Chicago beauty of an '82 from eBay ...

Cheers! Happy turkey day to all you Yanks!

Great find! I shot an email off to Val Danilov, John Allen, Trent Wagner. So hopefully this will go to a lancisti and not end up in the scrappy.

The pic appears to be of the same Zagato that was on eBay several months ago, an '82 converted to dual-DCNF Webers -- IIRC, this was due to some baffling problem with the FI, tho' the original FI bits were still on-hand to go with the car -- with a black respray that looked decent enough in the other photos.

The seller had also mentioned something about "torque steer" (which shouldn't be noticeable in any Beta, except for the very earliest sedans that didn't have the jointed right driveshafts) and some yaw during hard braking, which all sounded to me like a simple matter of replacing some bad bushing(s).

Well, somebody bought it. I went to scope it again and all that came up under "Lancia" in Seattle Craigslist was that Olympia dealer selling a red one for $3000. (Looks like a nice one too ...)

Anybody we know...?
