Hi to everyone!
I have come to Brasil from Moscow with reserch trip.
Parts for cars, made in Brasil, are very chirp here. :D For example, gasket kit for VW Beetle 1.6 engine cost 2.5 $ (6.5 reals).
There is 2.0 Fiat (twin cam and 16V models '86-)engine parts.
I need rings for my HPE 2,0. Does enyone know about quality of Brasilian piston rings 84.0 ? :?:

If the brazilian fiat parts are anything like the quality of the brazilian vw parts then stay well away. In fact run in the opposite direction.

Hmmmm,
Having seen the putty that some Brazilian VW parts have been made from I'd have to query their value - ie: it's about right
If you need rings for the 2 litre HPE then any Fiat/Lancia twincam of the same bore should provide without any trouble - so Thema, Dedra from Lancia and Strada, Regatta, Tipo should all provide what you need.
If you have a VX things get more complicated (isn't that always the way  ) as the scraper ring is very hard to come by.
Hope you're having a nice time in Brazil :!:

... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I have always used "DEVES" rings. I know some others have purchased rings and found them to be undersize. If you are getting your pistons made, you can get them cut for the "Total Seal" rings. In my opinion, there are better ways to save money than on cheap rings. Better if something breaks OUTSIDE of the motor than inside!
