Take a quick look at EBAY item 280174478054. Here we have a 1982 LBZ, not running, visible rust ,interior gone. It is "ready for restoration" with a starting bid of $3500! There was a 1980 LBZ in similiar condition that got a high bid of $912. EBAY closed item 320175891032.
This Forum should elect someone to contact these sellers and "let 'em down easy".. I nominate the Zagman. He has the perfect EBAY identity.

Beat me to it Jim: I just saw it & was about to
post this E-bay car too. If THAT much rust is
visible imagine what's hidden! The '82 LBZ I
bought 2 yrs. ago had same mileage, almost
perfect leather [carpet too] & VASTLY less
rust. Plus it ran. That for $700! Just the pics
of that driver's door alone made me cringe .
Looks like a parts car to me.

And with 24 photos, there isn't a single shot of the engine. Add that to the "cannot be driven" and you'd be better off spending the $3500 on lottery tickets...

I had the same idea. On the plus side, it looks like the silkscreened badges are in great shape -- that's a $160 value right there! Also, the column control cluster adds another $300 in parts value to that sweet machine. Oh, and let's not forget the taillight clusters at $400 apiece (!!!). I'm counting up $860 worth of parts ... that leaves a mere $2,700-odd bucks for the rest of the not-to-be-driven car ...

Eeeh just looking at that flank on the drivers side, its rotten all the way from the door to the rear arch! my hpe had a little bit of bubbling like that at the leading edge of the arch and that ended up with this -

I bet if you started poking that youd end up having to replace the whole bottom couple of inches of the side

I finally got a chance to look at it, I would pay a grand for it if I had the money and ability to drive up to Chi town and drag it home, it looks to have that much in good parts left.
But NO WAY would ANY SANE person actually try to restore that one, it has obviously sat outside and been driven daily in all the salt laidened Chicago winter streets since new up to mayyyybeee the claimed last 8 years in storage! ha ha don't forget, all 82's were galvinized steel, they don't normally rust like that!. I may email them later and try to nicely inform them of what they have. So far as the additional paper work they claim to include, all that stuffs pretty much useless!
I think it should be listed at a min $500 open bid and hope for a grand. I may make them an offer on it.....I need a good parts car! <wink, wink>

I spotted that car too,and had the same thoughts....."Parts car". I was tempted to ask the seller a question, and that question was "Are you nuts?". It will be interesting just to sit back and watch the auction play out,and see if there is actually anyone on the planet who is dumb enough to bid on this rust bucket.

Speaking of which, I've often thought we'd also do well to have someone contact winning Lancia bidders on eBay, to congratulate them on their purchase and cordially invite them to join the ranks of Lancisti here (they'll need it! :D ).

The "Gorgeous Lancia Zagato waiting for restorative hands",took absolutely no bids.Gee,I wonder why? Did anyone try to contact him/her and convince them it's just a parts car?
