Hi
I have finally got a catch part to go with the lock that was attached to the boot of my Spyder. I bolted them together to see how it worked before I put them together on the car and shut the boot. It's just as well I did, as while the button will open the boot when pushed, if I try to lock it then I am unable to unlock it again. I have posted some pictures of it here:

Can anyone explain to me what I have done wrong? The way it is pictured is how the Haynes manual shows it, but I have tried attaching it the other way around too, and it doesn't work that way around either.
The boot catch is the last bit that I can do (I have made all of the electrics work), and then it will go to the garage to see how much the welding is going to cost. So your help would be very greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Duncan

This is actually completely normal. When the lid is latched closed, the catchpin on the trunk lip props the latch striker slightly ajar, so it is then possible to turn the key fully to the unlocked position. It almost seems intentional, as if designed to prevent locking your keys in the trunk, except they got it totally bass-ackward!
