I am not sure what the correct name for this bit is but I will try to describe. I am looking for the pin/clip made of spring steel that holds tha ball joint in place at the end of the small 3 to 4 inch gear selector bar. The bar is situated directly under the brake master cylinder at the back of the subframe. Does anybody have one or know where i can get one please.

Took me a bit to visualize what spring clip you mean, so correct me if I've misunderstood...

I gather you are talking about the short, small transverse link (can't think now if there's a more proper term for it) that connects to the tip of each main linkage rod and runs alongside the central idler arm mounted to the subframe, and which functions to "twist" the main front linkage rod inversely to how the gearlever twists the other main linkage rod coming from the cabin. That transverse link is tipped with tiny balljointed rod ends, where the ball is held captive in the (rather loose) socket by a convoluted bit of wire acting as a clip of sorts. If this is what you mean, I don't think that wire clip has ever existed as a separate part.

I got a real close look at that transverse link when I recently had my entire linkage apart to redo the major balljoints -- BTW, for the latter, I cobbled up a solution from McMaster-Carr (http://www.mcmaster.com/) hardware bits using steel spherical bearings IMO far superior to the usual plastic bushings (cheaper, too!). Anyway, those wire retainer clips appeared to have been crimped in-place during manufacture of that particular link assembly, so if they ever needed to be replaced, they prolly would have just replaced that entire link, balljoint ends and all. While that part is prolly long-NLA (I've certainly never seen one on eBay in years), the basic functionality of that entire link should be easy to replicate with a couple of balljointed rod ends (available at any decent hardware store, or McMaster-Carr, natch) and a length of threaded bar stock cut to size, with a couple locknuts to hold the ends in place at the correct orientation.

Many Thanks for the info. After having read your reply I reasoned that Betacar would probably be sourcing this part for their customers. Have ordered the link this morning along with the nylon bushes. Hopefully problem solved.
