The disease has really started to overtake my body and soul! The mission is to build one of the hottest Beta 2.0 engines in the US and I've begun the search for top-of-the-line sources for engine upgrades and more than willing to share with everyone as the project continues. We're presently discussing with Crower making a custom run of connecting rods and the more sets they produce the better the price will get. Here is a link to their site and pages relating to the rods I'll be ordering. - http://www.crower.com/pdf/08/157-173.pdf -. The cost will be +/- $1200.00 and I'll include delivery. These are the finest grade steel and are billet rods, not forged. If anyone is interested drop me a note and I'll keep you informed of the project and anticipated delivery.

You know you can get the Carillos for 2/3 that and it's a semi-stock part, right? (not sure how many grams and where)
Just wondering, you can go nuts spending your own money but the really hot 600BHP 'Grales are using the Carillos AFAIK and they are good to somewhere north of 9K and must be strong as all getout to take the abuse. Did you see that 900BHP drag car on Youtube? That thing is damn scary. SCARY! I've no idea what rods he's using, but IIRC there's a pic of them so you should be able to see the profile.
Still others are using Scats which are more than adequate for a N/A motor, but you didn't mention what kind of motor you a building. You might want to check with the turbo124 guys before committing to Crower for custom rods. (IMHO).

aren't the 2.0L rods almost identical in dimensions to one of the Chevy V8 rods? IIRC one of them will work with minor mods and hi-po parts are VERY common here in the US. If you are lucky you can find a hot rodder who has ruined one or two and will sell the remainder VERY cheap.
Haven't done this myself, but before you spend that kind of money I would look at all options..

No, not really. The bearing big end is virtually the same diameter but the closest Chevy rods are thicker at the big end, different at the small end, and slightly different length (don't remember if they are shorter or longer). This means you need to order CUSTOM pistons with pin diameter and height matched to your Chevy rods, and you need to perform additional machine work to make the chevy rods fit the crank. (mill, bevel, cut the BEARINGS to match)This only really makes sense if you already required custom pistons. On the other hand, the Scat rods or the Carillo rods for N/A or turbocharged respectively, already fit out of the package and let you use one of the FIAT type pistons of your choice.
The Carillos are expensive, best price I could find was about $800USD and who knows with current exchange rate, The Scats are cheaper, about $600 IIRC, The VW guys are not as spendy as the Ferrari crowd apparently :) there are lots of rod manufacturers, I only mentioned Carillo and Scat because you can call up either and order FIAT rods and they don't say "Who makes a FIAT?"

The turbo124 group went through all the combinations of rods a few years back ! Everyone seemed to be keen to do a group order until it came to actually parting with the cash - when it all went a bit quiet. . .
Pauter do Fiat / Lancia rods off the shelf (well - about 6 weeks waiting).
