View Full Version : Quandry with my Zagati...

Hey all - I finally have some time (and maybe money? ;D) to place on the grand plan of getting the black 'Zag up and running DOT-style for the changing colors on the Blue Ridge Parkway (crosses fingers).

And YES, I will have parts (perhaps a whole car?) when I'm finished. Start making your lists...

The current question deals with the engines, and it's an old one with a twist... (I know, GET ON WITH IT!) ;)

The red '81 has a .06 bored engine, and is carbed (I'd want to put a sidedraft on it if I keep the engine) with about 20K on the rebuild. The black SE has FI and about 44K on the standard engine. Both run well (I'll need a head gasket on the black one soon...).

My original plan was to swap the engines and convert the bored one to FI. But I have heard that I could get the same bump in torque and hp if I put 1.8 heads on.

Any ideas?

Mille Grazie,
