Hi.
Does anybody know the original part number for the coupe front struts (either early or later styles will do).
Thanks
Ian.

'75-'81 #82395527, yes Zagatos take the same # .
Way-AssAuto was the factory brand . I bought a
pair from IAP sometime ago that were re-stickered
some brand I don't recall but there were stamped
Way-AssAuto on the shaft . Not that you have to
have that brand though . They don't have rears .

Call around to the different vendors, and don't forget Beta Boyz in the UK, they can hunt down pretty much anything you need and it doesn't kill the wallet on shipping, it's close to what you would pay for UPS from NY to LA actually! ha ha
Anyway, the vendors get the struts in off and on so you have to sometimes ask to be put on the list for the next time they get some in, (especially with IAP), just because they don't have rears when you call, doesn't mean they won't have rears in the next 6 months.
That being said, personaly I wouldn't mess around with the factory struts, find a set of Koni's from a private owner or off eBay, have them rebuilt if necessary, this can end up costing up to about $800 for all four if you have to rebuild them, Koni-NA charges $124 or $145 per strut plus any mods you may have done, I had mine modified to a top knob type adjuster so you don't have to take the strut off to change it, just open hood and turn knob, that was $240 a strut due to they basically only use the shell of the strut and replace al the guts wih new modern technoligy stuff. Once they rebuild it for you, you, and only you, have a lifetime warranty on it once again, but if you sell the car, or struts, the warranty is voided. It lso helps to grab a set of the Beta Boyz sport springs, they drop the car about an inch and stiffin things up a bit, and even a set of their suspension bushes, making the whole package complete, they are very reasonably priced and no, I have no financial interest in Beta Boyz, I have just had great service and parts from them thus far! :D
Once you drive a Zagato or Coupe on Koni's, (especially if you go the whole route with springs and bushes), you'll NEVER own one without them again! no matter WHAT your budget is! ;)

Absolutely Koni's are THE way to go but Good Lord the
wait plus when they appear the price !!!! That last pair
of inserts we all saw on E-Bay [for a Scorpion I think]
was like $300 ? Zounds & gad-zooks ! I'd be curious to
see if Koni would honor their lifetime warrenty on a set
of NOS 30 something yr. old struts, i.e. do they have the
parts to even re-build the damn things ? Still great shocks .
