New door lock barrels

Hello everybody,

The driver's side door lock has never worked since I got the car a few months ago and I think it's about time to do something about it!

The question I have is how? I have tried to remove it but without any luck, I wonder if anyone in the ether of the internet can help me?

A topic of discussion... would it be unethical to fit some sort of central locking mechanism to make up for my inherent ability to forget to manually lock the doors?

There are no new locks. Maybe a locksmith can assist with repairing it. Removing is a question of taking the door panel off and extracting it that way.

There are various central locking kits on the market which are often easy to fit.. Providing you installed it with some consideration, I don't think anyone would have a problem!

How would I go about getting the barrel out?

I've managed to get the mechanism of the back of the barrel but how do I get it out after that?
