Does anyone know how much a 2 litre engine actually weighs, minus the gearbox? Thanks. Jeremy.

This source says 272, I would have guessed more like 240. Maybe they had the ancillaries on when they weighed it:

With the head off, I can just carry the lump up a flight of stairs. Once the crank comes out I can cart it around anywhere. Just as long as anywhere is not within sight of the missus and carpeted :o

Of course they also say that it is a 2 Liter from a 128. An interesting idea I must admit, but they probably meant a 124 and probably with US spec smog pump and such.

Probably the rare 130TC 3P variant ;)

You're right it does sound like fun in a hooligans sort of way..

Jeremy,
If you really need to know I can find out, as I have a spare 2L engine in bits and can chuck the major bits on the scales to see - but it will take me a few hours to drag the bits out.
On the off chance that it is to work out shipment of the 2L you have for sale, it cost $200 to ship this engine complete on sub-frame with gearbox from Melbourne to Brisbane.
Regards, Simon
