While the engine's still in bits (!), i'm thinking of putting new auxilliary bearings in. the problem is, you can't get hold of them in the UK, or the special reafer to cut them to size.

Just wondering if oilite or bronze ones could do instead ? They could be made up to size and just pressed in ??

The oil pump drive runs in them - but it looks like it's hardened - i'm not sure if the aux shaft is ..

Any thoughts ??

I got new ones from Vick Autosports in Texas, Wallace. Inexpensive and quick shipping. Very knowledgable people, too. Mine were supposedly already sized but still required a small amount of gentle hand "fitting".

Tthanks !!

I'll try them - with the engine out, it shouldn't be too difficult to get them line bored to size - I'm not to hand with a bearing scraper . . .
