Hi, just thought id ask if there are any difficulties I might encounter during my planned removal of the sump on my 84 to get rid of the remains of the old dipstick so I can put in the new one I picked up today (big thanks to marc if he visits here). Also got another gearbox today so as soon as some money rolls in I should be past my 2nd gear synchro issues!

Second question. My 85 has always had a high idle (~2000) and seeing as ive hardly used it I havent done much towards fixing it, but now that it has a fresh cambelt etc I feel the need to get some use out of it. Today I checked all the vacuum hoses and found nothing amiss, checked the automatic choke and it was absolutely filled up with foul stuff so i cleaned that out but still nothing. Dumb question is here then : where is the throttle stop? I tried 2 or 3 that looked promising to no avail. I swear the system under the bonnet is completely nuts.
