I've returned to the Alfa GTV6 fold, and am selling a light-blue Scorpion with a 3 1/2 year old (about 15,000 milies)completely rebuilt 2.0 liter engine (1.8 liter head/2 liter Lancia block. had 34 DAT Carb that needs rejetting (jets are small), cant find the original jets but I'm sure Montehospital can help). Also replaced was clutch and cylinder, brake calipers and MC, engine mounts (now replaced with the improved Montehospital mounts), lots more. Interior was redone in Maserati-style light brown vinyl (dash, door panels, console, sides of seats, and rear panel), with brown cloth seats. Top replaced with a Hartz fabric top. Looks Great! Suspension-wise, I have the original version of the Montehospital rear struts (circa 1999-2000) with original Scorpion springs, and the KYB gas strut/X19 rear springs combination on the front. Also, the rear bushings have been replaced with new bushings from Montehospital (a combination of rubber and poly, based on Chad's suggestion). Recently added a Marelli Electronic ignition, replaced starter, valve adjustment, Magnecor 8.5mm wires, and added a X19 metal overflow tank. Needs cosmetic work here and there, could use a paint job (I bought it with a fair paint job on it that basically works for daily driving.) Only rust is around the front trunk grills which is definitley fixable!! Needs smog gear, but runs and drives good!!! Have all receipts. Work performed by Import Car Services and Alfa Italia.
Car is tagged and registered through July 2006. 14 inch Beta wheels with new (less then 1000 miles)185/60-14 tires are installed; five original Scorpion bow-tie wheels and two extra 14 inch wheels are included. You also get a box of other Scorpion odds and ends as well as manuals and collectible items (original ad brouchures, original review magazines, manuals, diagrams, etc.) What's in the box? You'd be surprised!! (Several unused silicon coolant hoses, S-hooks for the doors, front and rear wheel bearings...and more.)
Flaws? That typical small j-hook crack on the windshield, inoperative seat belt retractors, ragged/worn rubber/plastic moldings around the top of the door/bottom of window openings), glass (front rear and quarters) need to be resealed. A/C is not hooked up, but a rotary compressor (already mounted and installed) is included. I would also reccomend rodding the radiator and replacing the water pump with the proper Scorpion pump from Montehospital.
For Sale for $2700.00. Buy it, open the top, and drive it home!! Everything is sold as a package. I will be posting for sale a pair of unmounted NOS front struts I purchased on eBAY from FiatPlus last month. Pictures are available.
