Does anyone out there know whether Lancia are going to produce that new Fulvia?! ???
First they were, then they weren't, then they were...
Will be in the market for a new car in the not too distant future and would love that new Fulvia. Do I hold out for it or accept it will never be...?! ::)

Hold on...
to that dream.
There seems to be a very good chance of a new Delta being produced in 2007 but as we say in Scotland "nae chance" of the Fulvia Coupe or even a Delta Coupe. In case you didn't realise, the Fulvia "concept car" first appeared 4 years ago.

I was aware that the Fulvia concept has been around for a while.
Problem is the little devils have been teasing with whether they'll put it into production.
Someone told me that they read, relatively recently, that it was going to go into production but I can't find anything to back this up! Probably not by the sounds of it.
Out of interest on searching on the Web for info I came across this:

Probably never happen... :(

I'm wondering if they will begin making RHD Lancias again. :'(

The July issue of the Australian Wheels magazine says that they are going to start making rhd cars again, where they get their info from, you wouldn't know but fingers crossed. They mention the new Delta and the possibility that the new Fulvia will be built. I'm saving up already.

Oh Sweet Jesus!
While I am all for a new Lancia- please don't let it be:
a) a Bertone
b) that Saguna concept car, which has all the styling elements of a riced-out 12 foot long blaze-orange suppository.
Personally, I would rather see extinction of the Lancia brand than a huge sucess with that anything resembling that car.
Please let the new lancia be the Fulvia, and if it has to look like a Bertone, let it at least be the "updated" Stratos those Brits came up with. That Saguna concept car is one of the ugliest vehicles I've ever seen, inclusive of the Pontiac Aztek.
I tried to translate "Saguna" to English via Alta Vista, and just got back "Saguna". so it apparently is not the Italian word for "Fugly" as I suspected.
There might be kids reading this forum so I'll not tell you what I really think of the styling ;D
Here's the correct pronunciation though:[i] Saguna http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/audio.pl?suppos14.wav

Story goes that Olivier Francois (brand manager for Lancia) was so horrified by the Suagna thing that he ordered a complete restyle. Assuming the thing ever gets built, it now looks like being a convertible that looks quite like the Fulvia concept, more or less. If it ever happens, it will still probably end up being built by Bertone.
The 'new Delta' is more interesting. Francois confirmed recently in an interview with a Dutch newspaper that the project is less a new Delta than a new HPE. Underpinned by a version of the Stilo replacement platform, extended in wheelbase to 2700mm (same as the 159). Marchionne has said it WILL be offered in RHD. Five-door hatchback only, around 4.5m or so in length overall. Style is promised to be very elegant - think sportwagon, not without influence from the Beta. Similar in concept to the Volvo V50, I suppose, but better...
Francois also said that the new HPE might be debuted (as a concept) at "the end of this summer", which translates as the Paris Motor Show in September - perhaps as a centenary celebration by the factory.
