Hello all,
I just replaced the starter motor on my 2 litre Trevi. The one I selected from "stock" looks the same Magneti Marelli unit but the mounting holes are about 1mm closer together so no fit !
Another on in my stock fitted OK (and worked). Puzzling, the one that will not fit is definitey a Beta unit, with threaded holes.
Can anyone confirm/deny absolutely that the starter for a 2 litre engine has different mounting from a 1.6 litre engine. When I say engine, of course the starter bolts actually run through the transmission bellhousing.
I measured the pitch with a caliper after I was unable to get more than one bolt in.
