I saw this on ebay and wondered what anyone might think about it.

Although the seller claims to be up front about the car, I do wonder where he gets his facts and figures from. Is he genuinely misinformed or is it to try and sell the car. If it's the latter I wonder what he's not saying. Having said that his feedback is all positive. The only negative is from a buyer who tried to back out.
How much of a difference do Abarth cams make?

presume it means ritmo 130tc cams they increase overlap and breathing no end no idea of the overall effect as haven't tried it although i do have some cams in the garage ;D with both exhaust and inlet i'd expect it to drink petrol at quite some rate

I would hope that it has a larger carb. The standard carb and 130 cams would be almost un-drivable.

I'm intrigued by the wheel arch extensions so I've emailed the seller and asked if they are spats, welded on additions or after market wings and quarter panels.

Here's the reply:
"hi bodykit is original abarth direct from dealers in somerset which is fibreglass wings are steel as for the engine that was a complete rebuild with crank conrods pistons rings cams valves and all other componets the mojority done by york enginers and the abarth dealers again the exhaust system was also done buy abarth." (sic)
I'm guessing by abarth he means Avanti Motorsport in Street, Somerset.

Here's his reply:
"rims are made buy 100+ and ar five spoke will put a PIC ON TOMORROW as for rubbing (against the arches) couldnt say as i havent realy drove it that much when i did i couldnt hear any rubbing phrehaps the supension helps"
I can't decide whether this is a project gone badly wrong or whether the seller has just got fed up with it and it has real potential.
Yep, quite agree about the seller's manner, plus there's something not quite right about this whole thing, just a nagging feeling.

No engine bay pics or MOT.

I note the reference to some sort of problem with the Beta rear suspension? Is there any basis to this, it's the first time of hearing if it that I recall. Mine was fine, but that doesn't necessarily mean much. Is anybody else aware of some fault in the rear susp??

I'm sure he was refering to the Series 1 front subframe mountings, mistakenly. But as he mentions the boot floor rot I wouldn't be surprised if the the rear turrets are shot !
