I need some more advice, it's one thing after another at the moment and I just want to drive her for the first time. I doesn't seem to be getting fuel to the carby. I have fuel to the inlet of the mechanical pump. I took the pump off and it seems to function normally. The strange thing is I did have it running and it got fuel for a while after I primed it (it would go first crank several times without priming that is) and the filter did hold some fuel. Then it failed to start the next day and there's no fuel in the filter. Is it possible the fuel pump isn't performing at it's peak. It seemed to pump with good pressure when I checked it. Would a faulty needle valver or floats have any effect? Thanks. Jeremy.

Pump problems can include worn mechanism or valves.

Assuming it's OK, tank problems can be...
A lump of shit rolling around inside the tank and getting sucked onto the end of the pipe.
Blocked air bleed in Cap allowing vacuum to form in tank. This has been known to cause the tank to collapse in some cars!!
