Hi,

Anyone got a good design or a design for a heat shield suitable for use with the guy croft exhaust? Just tried making a prototype with rice crispie boxes but didnt get very far.

I have a couple of ideas for one and it's on my long list of "DO" items. I hope to get to it this weekend and will post any results.

I'd also like to hear what others may have done so far. When I visited Chad last year he had a prototype on his car that looked very similar to the stock and ANSA shields. He said it need a good bit of work, thought. I'm thinking of a different configuration.

BTW, is that you selling the ANSA on eBay?

Yeah maybe I will give chad a ring see what he has. Though I feel it is something I should make myself as I have the facilities and the supplies.

Yes that is me selling the ANSA.

Which heat shield? The cat box top shield I made of of 1/8" aluminum diamond plate. The CV joint shield should be easy- or were you referring to the "box" at the rear bumper?

Will,

Yes I meant the CV sheild there doesnt seem to be any room or any suitable fixing positions with the GC Exhaust.

We dont have cats on cars that old.

What box at the rear bumper

Thanks

In the States we DO have cats on cars that old, so there's an eclosure that wraps around cat, and is visible beneathe the rear bumper valance, as well as a shield on top of the ehxaust box.
My mind wandered and I didn't stop to think the montes were different. Sorry.
IMO you could simply sleeve the GC exhaust with a bit of aluminum where it passes the CV joint. However, be sure to leave air space as the SS exhausts (none of them, not just the GC one ) don't like the heat.
For this reason I would recommend against thermo-tec or any kind of direct contact insulation. I don't know about jet-coat, you'd have to ask Guy or Chad.
You can also "boot" the CV joint in thermal barrier, should work, but not as preferable since the thermal blankets work "both ways". and the CV will still warm up a bit over time.
