Paul Garside.

I was sorry to read in the Consortium Newsletter about the passing away of Paul Garside (monte_giallo). I met him only the once - when he visited to pick up a carburettor I was throwing out - and we spent an good evening talking about his yellow racer and laughing at what was going to go wrong with the engine I was building.

A nice bloke and I wish I'd known him a bit better.

I was teribbly saddened to read this. I had the opportunity to meet Paul at the 2004 Le Mans Classic. He was a great fellow and I, too, would like to have known him better. He was one of the few people who actually competed in a Montecarlo and I'll miss the stories of his exploits.

I've created an special album in the Lancisti Faces Gallery album and posted several pictures I shot of Paul and his son taking laps at Le Mans. He later told me it was just about the greatest thrill of his life.
