Hello fellow Lancisti.

I now have a windfall that will turn into a dilemma - I am the owner of 'due Zagati' - a red '81 with +120K on the body (and it looks it) and an '81 Special Edition with @43K on everything. I will be picking and choosing to make a real good example, using the black body.

My question is concerning the engines - both run strong. The red one, however was bored out (.6mm pistons) about 12K ago in '94, so the horsepower will be greater than the black one's. It's also set up for carbs (black one still has FI).

Do I want to swap engines? I'm not looking for a pavement scorcher, but something I'll enjoy on romps through the Blue Ridge Mountains (2 hrs. away) and the East Coast. Do I also swap the trans as well?

Note - I will have the red one FS or part-out ready in months...

Thanks,

Steven J.

I think you should buy another Zagato.

I would think the FI would be more reliable compared to the Carb setup. Also a guess the FI would be slightly more economical as well.

Oh, if your breaking the red one for parts to sell .............. ME ME ME!!!! ;D
