Hi guys, I've read some of the material with the other post on this topic, but it doesn't seem to apply to my Beta. I have a 78 coupe (rhd) and I've just put an engine in. I bought the car with engine on the way out and the wiring was everywhere. For one I couldn't find the v out wire from the alternator. I mean it's there at the alternator end alond with the brown wire, but I can't see where it comes out of the lume at the battery end. Should there be a third wire for the battery return? Well that's what I've done temporarily.
Secondly, I need help with the ignition swith and or relay. But I guess I should start with the junction box referred to as no.66 ignition switch six outlet juction block. One of the connectors was off (two red wires) which lead to the starter solonoid. I reattached them to the seemingly correct spot with no luck, ie. no power to solonoid on start up. But to confirm, can somebody please give confirmation as to where this connector goes, I've put it on the top left. Anyway I'm starting to think that the problem runs deeper, can someone point me in the right direction. The accesrories seem to work ok, the heater, clock, headlights and dash lights operate. I suppose I could bypass the starter solonoid to test that, but I don't think that would be the problem.
Thanks.
Jeremy.

Hi Jeremy,
Boy, if your trying to do the wiring work on a Beta, with it in spagetti fashion as you claim it is, with no "Factory" wiring manual, your in trouble! :o It would be impossible for any of us to explain to you what to look for if it is all apart without actually being there and going over what you have. ??? My suggestion is to go out on eBay or contact some vendors and search for a "Factory" wiring manual, (I saw one last week on eBay store for $39, bit pricy but invaluable!), get an "original", not a copy of the Factory wiring manual as it has a large color fold out of the car cut away to show where each harness is run through the car and where every connection is, the connections are even numbered so you can refer to them from the circut pages. Then each circut is broken down seperatly page by page so it is remarkably simple to follow once you have studied if for a few minuets. The wiring color can change from terminal to terminal and sometimes in a soldered connection taped up along the way. So trying to find the same color on the other end without following it exactly can sometimes be impossible. Hope that helps! Jim ;)

Thanks Jim, I will look out for that manual. The wires aren't all over place now, I've figured out most of it and loom is intact. I have got the starter working (bad earth to body), but now I have no spark. I have the electronic ignition so this complicates things slightly. I have replaced just about every associated part with others, still no spark. All of the diagrams in my manual are of the points type ignition and it would help to have one including the electronic ignition. The correct circuit diagram would be a great help on it's own. Do you have such a diagram for the Beta 2000 european virsion.
Thanks.
Jeremy.
