Ok, the Beta's motor is rebuilt. 1.8 liter, 10.5:1 pistons, 40/80 on int, stock cam on exh, big valves, ported/shaved head/ free flow exhaust and twin 40 DCNF's
On the carbs, i'm running 32 chokes, 220 air correctors, f24 tubes, 125 mains. 55 idles. the car runs really well in the higher revs, but bogs and coughs at low revs, any suggestions or ideas what this could be? Oh, the the spark plugs are showing a nice color, a tad rich but not bad. Thanks

What was it?

Hi Dj,
The low side was leaning out way to much. I richened up the idle mixture and now the car pulls well for the entire power band.
I've also changed the air correctors to 190s. Not sure of the total effect, not enough time driving it yet. I'm going to compare to the 220's and see which feels better.
Overall the motor is very happy now. Think i'm going to change all the fuel lines in the car. I'm still getting some contaminates from somewhere in the line. I may also go with a more reliable fuel pump. The Purolator unit isn't inspiring confidence.

Dan,
A wee word to the wise, fit a large injection specification in-line fuel filter. Makes a huge difference and it's amazing (even with a completely new fuel system including tank) how much cr*p is in the fuel when you change the filter out after a month or so :-\
